Darwin Award 2009

"The Universal Totem Orchestra won the 13th edition of the Darwin Award for non-conventional music with regard to record albums came out in 2008. The Magus, which is the majestic and esoteric second chapter of UTO, is the album chosen by Laboratorio di Babele as a prize to the artistic and stylistic thickness, with strong Zeuhl features and tensions (with reference to French archetype band Magma), really rare and extraordinary in the Italian overview. UTO will be rewarded on Saturday 20 June in the context of 13th edition of the Demetrio Stratos Tribute, and they will perform live at the apse church of Alberone di Cento (FE). Congratulations to UTO and Black Widow Records, historical label which has take care of the album publication. The Laboratorio of Babele dedicate this edition of the Darwin Award in the memories of Andrea Zanatta, the person whom the first organizations were shared."

About The Magus...

"The Magus" is the new Opera of Universal Totem Orchestra. It's a jazz/rock simphonyc composition which concludes a Trilogy (hidden Opera, "Rituale Alieno", "The Magus") dedicated to the Human Alienation; from the most esoteric state to the most psychal complex one, crossing extreme forms of analysis and autoanalysis.
